Cameras: October 2008 Archives
If anyone has any money left by Christmas and they want to give a special someone a gift with class, Olympus has a tantalizing offering. It has packaged its pint-sized digital SLR--the E-420--as a limited editon kit named after chick poet Ono no Komachi, known for her great beauty, both physical and literary. The kit comes with the E-420--which is based on the Four Thirds standard and touted by Olympus as the world's smallest DSLR, a 25 millimeter F/2.8 ED Zuiko lens and a one gigabyte CompactFlash card. What makes the kit particularly attractive is the camera's fitted brown leather case and strap. Not only is the case a handsome addition to the package, but it gives the camera a retro look that's bound to invite envious inquiries. The kit is scheduled to appear in select photo specialty stores this month and sell for $749.99.
