Best everywhere camera

As much as I love my DSLR, I don't take it with me every time I leave my home because of its size. Judging from conversations that I've had with many folks, that seems to be a common conundrum. The alternative is to have a second digital camera with a more portable footprint. That, however, poses another puzzle: which one to buy? Tim Ashley, moderator of the Open Photography Forum, joined the kudo chorus today for the Sony DSC-W300. Although he was initially skeptical about the model, he bought one anyway and was not disappointed with it. "The camera is really, really good," he raved.

Hi,
I dunno much about this Sony model, might be a good one. But there's one issue with all this super duper XX-MPixel mini cameras you should keep in mind when searching for a compact.
Read here about the "more than 6 MPixel issue":

Anyway, coming from a DSLR, you will probably be disapointed by the output of any of this small ones. ...my experience at least.

Probably you should have a look on the Sigma DP1.

Good luck!

Thank you for your comment.

I'm aware of the pitfalls of jamming pixels on small processors, but this Sony model seems to making believers of many skeptics. As for the Sigma DP1, its proportions are outside the "take it everywhere" category in my mind.
